Hello lovelies,
How has your summer been going? We have had a great deal of rain and things are more prolific this year then I can remember in a long time. Life has also been quite busy so I am posting this far later then I had hoped. I thought it would be fun to put together a new series incorporating the idea of ‘restorative spaces’ and showcasing them per month following on in the mindset of color psychology. This will be a curated collection of interiors that have the characteristics of each month. Here is the color psychology mood board for July, so you can see how they relate to each other.
As a reminder seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc.
Regarding interiors for this month; symmetry is important, gentle curves, matte and antiqued finishes add an elegant element, traditional materials like marble and real wood as well as natural fibers such as cotton and wool are important. Refined florals, paneled painted walls and understated colors are also key.
This moodboard and the nine images shown are on my Pinterest board ‘colour psychology – july’ .. please explore the pins further if you would like to.
