As February bumps into Spring, a feeling of weightlessness becomes more apparent. Shapes, which begin to round and become a bit more spirited, take more of the spotlight then color.
Seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc. Here is the color psychology mood board for February, so you can see how they relate to each other.
When looking at interiors for the last month of Winter repetition and order begin to move towards being more asymmetrical. Pieces have a hand-hewn beauty of unadorned simplicity making many of them artful to look at. Although February interiors are all about function they do have a feeling of lightness and warmth in the natural finishes that are chosen. Pattern is very minimal and precise. Texture mainly plays a role in fabrics, linens and floor coverings. Artwork is quite quiet, but can have cheerful elements as well. February interiors are very well thought out and well appointed, truly appreciating quality and precision.
