Hello lovelies,
Popping in to share the second installment in the ‘restorative spaces’ series – August. You can catch up with July here.
As a reminder seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc. Here is a peek at the August color psychology mood board if you would like to see it.
August has the overarching qualities of Summer, but the autumnal feel is more noticeable, the vibe is more casual, more cozy, less formal and more textural.
Regarding interiors for this last month in Summer; symmetry is still important but less formal, curves are straightening up, metallic finishes are still matte but a bit more rustic and darker, traditional materials such as marble and real wood feature strongly, but the wood is more worn and tactile. Natural fibers such as cotton, wool and especially linen are important. Softer graphics, gentle stripes and faded florals are really the only pattern, less formal paneled painted woodwork and natural tones are also key.
This moodboard and the nine images shown are on my Pinterest board ‘colour psychology – august’ .. please explore the pins further if you would like to.
