thanks for taking a minute to get to know me a little better…

…hi, my name is dawn and over the years i have lived in many different places including four countries on three continents and although i have always had a strong desire for travel and adventure i now make my home in rural minnesota, where i grew up.

i live in the country in a small house that has needed a lot of tender loving care since it came into my hands. i share it and my life with a dear man, my lovely daughter and our sweet kitty.

i value simple day to day happenings…seeing my daughter and the interaction she has with her friends, meals by candlelight, walks in the woods, a good cup of tea, time with a book, sitting in the shade of a tree…

a few more things  i heart…

for as long as i can remember i have enjoyed making things look better than the way i have found them. i also love putting my thoughts and ramblings on paper and taking lots of photographs. this space allows me to combine those things and more…i see it as my ‘beautiful vision’.

…for the longest time i have been an interior designer and believe with all my heart that the place we call home can greatly influence our outlook on life…for better or worse…

by having surroundings that nurture our sense of well-being and choosing useful and beautiful objects that we connect to, we can create a place (no matter how small or transient) that we long to take solace in. if  we can see our homes as our safe place of connection and restoration, then that can allow us to sieze opportunities that may otherwise pass unseen.

i also believe that the better we understand ourselves the easier it is to have a clear vision of the life we wish to embrace.

it is my hope that as i share insights, observations and experiences through these pages, that this might help you create a home and life you love through mindfulness and simplicity.

the world we live in is frenetic, fast and full. i believe the closer we can move toward living deeply, deliberately and with discernment the more enriched our lives can become.
