meet your designer
I help creatives gain exceptional brand clarity with a cohesive visual plan.
I believe you have a vision for your life and work, one that represents your outlook on the world. One that communicates what you consider important and connects you with others. I know first hand that a space (whether home or on-line) that ‘feels like you’ can add immeasurable value to your life. You can expect to gain confidence, save time, preserve resources and harness direction.
You can become more purposeful and move forward with more intention. Your life can feel less stressful and overwhelming. Your workday can feel more grounded and focused.
I created bella visione ten years ago with these very thoughts in mind, as a complement to Casa Bella Designs {my design firm}. bella visione means ‘beautiful vision’ in Italian {from my ancestral roots}. I wanted an on-line space to broaden the context of the work I did as an interior designer into a ‘whole life’ experience. Our work can become more layered when we approach it from a ‘whole life’ perspective. It can become more nuanced, rich and varied.
I believe wholeheartedly that finding our path can be honed and simplified if we become more aware of what we excel at (innately), what we love to do and who we enjoy spending our time with. This mix is different for each of us, and sometimes it takes a little digging to find it.
My own work has continually progressed the more I have learned; about myself, my interests and about others. Initially I began my career in the U.K. as a property stylist furnishing dozens of showhouses throughout the south of England, I then spent time in Dubai at an upmarket showroom, designing interiors for Europeans and Emirians including the owner of Emirates Airlines. I then moved back to the States and launched Casa Bella Designs in the mid 90’s, doing upscale residential design work, most of which was greatly influenced by European and Scandinavian sensibilities.
I sensed a shift a few years ago as I became much more aware of my interest in color, especially seasonal color psychology. How the attributes (tones, traits and textures) of each season (spring, summer, autumn, winter) are more evident to me because of my orderly and dyslexic mind. How it creates an understandable foundation for all aspects of design. It became particularly fascinating in relation to the essence of branding (a direction I wanted to take my work), and I envisioned there could be even more clarity.
So I went a step further and formulated a groundbreaking system, distilling the four seasons into 12 individual months. I also truly love words and connecting the visuals to companion words for each month adds another descriptive layer making it easier to understand.
This system, I believe, is the linchpin to crystal clarity in visualizing what is possible. It is the glue the holds everything together. The lens to help you gain a clear focus.
I believe in less is more, quality over quantity, life long learning, margin, deep connection, integrity, kindness, gentle beauty, simple moments, saving resources and slowing down.
