As May blossoms into June, florals become a key feature this month. May is verdant, full of life and with that green comes into play quite often. Colors are cooling a bit from April and everything feels fresh and light.
As a reminder seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc. Here is the color psychology mood board for May, so you can see how they relate to each other.
Interiors for May are charming and approachable. They are informal but more orderly then the previous month. Colors are still pastel but are deeper and more powerful. Painted furniture still plays a big role with pieces being a more diminutive scale. Patterns are mid scale, florals and stripes, small patterns and plains. Spaces are inspirational and encourage an engaged mood and welcoming atmosphere. They give a feeling of openness and enjoyment.
