color psychology

early.winter – color psychology

Hello lovelies,

And here we have the last color psychology moodboard; December. I have enjoyed putting these together a great deal and have honed my understanding of how interconnected everything is, yet has it’s own traits and characteristics. Over the year I have been keenly watching how the seasons move from one month to the next and how closely they are represented in these curated boards. It has been fascinating. I am so much more aware of the subtle differences from cool to warm to cool that the palette goes through over the months.

So we have shifted once more, this time from the warmth of autumn to the coolness of winter. This months tones and visual are so richer and more elevated then November, yet are undoubtedly a bridge from warmer November to cool minimal January.  You can get a great overview of all the months here. januaryfebruarymarchaprilmayjunejulyaugustseptemberoctober and november.

Seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc.

As with the past eleven months, I am sharing words I think are most fitting to this month ..

dramatic . classic . luxury . reflective . spacious . strong . striking . cool . elevated

This moodboard and the nine images shown are on my Pinterest board ‘colour psychology – december’ .. please explore the pins further if you would like to.
