Hello lovelies,
November is the last month in Autumn and brings us to our fifth installment in the ‘restorative spaces’ series. You can have a quick look at July here, August here, September here and October here.
As a reminder seasonal color psychology is the study of color and how it’s tones and traits are mirrored in nature and can be relatable to nearly every aspect of design .. design in nature, fashion, interiors, print, florals, art etc. Here is a peek at the November color psychology mood board if you would like to see it.
November begins to rub shoulders with Winter and therefore becomes more minimal and graphic in nature. Contrast is much more evident and colors begin to cool down a bit.
When looking at interiors for this last month of Autumn; lines are not as organic and are becoming more straight as we edge toward Winter. Colors are striking and rich, surfaces are textured and there is contract between matte and sheen. Matte finishes in baskets, natural wood, velvet, woven fabrics and rugs contrast with the sheen of glass, brass, chrome, tile and painted wood. Asymmetry still features quite often. Accessories and overall busyness is toning down and becoming more simple.
